1 Bell Ringer: FRIDAY, March 2nd
Copy down the vocab for today: Traipse (verb): Walk or move wearily or reluctantly I traipsed down to principal’s office after my teacher told me that he wanted to see me; I knew that I was in trouble. THEN… Imagine a friend in another city has learned that you have just finished reading Huckleberry Finn. Your curious friend sends you an that says, “All I know is that that book is about a journey down the Mississippi River—what does this journey mean?” Write a short response to your friend, explaining the meaning of the journey. I.e. What’s the point?

2 REMINDER… Blog post due Monday! Write it down!
Follow the quote rules from yesterday – I’m holding you to it 

3 Now that you’ve read it all…
Why did Twain choose to end the novel this way? Is this the best possible ending? Why or why not? The novel ends with Huck feeling unsure about what his future holds. Why do you think he wants to light out for the Territory? What do you predict will happen to Huck? What sort of life do you think he will have? Why? Now that you’ve read it all… Ernest Hemingway declared that “all modern American literature stems from this one book.” Why would he say such a ridiculous thing?
