CLO: Today you will, orally, justify your opinion using content from the book to support your opinion and question in a socratic seminar with expanding discussion card questions and phrases such as “While ________ makes a good point, it appears to me that…” or “I would like to challenge that idea by saying that…”

2. Socratic Seminar – This is your unit project for Macbeth!
Get out your question (homework assigned from 4/8/15)
Use this question, your book, and the discussion cards (optional) to guide a free-form discussion on the play Macbeth. Each circle will receive minutes for discussion.
Inner circle: discuss any idea, character, event, etc. in Macbeth
A = speaking 5-7 times
B = speaking 3-4 times
C = speaking 2 times
D = speaking 1 time
F = no speaking
Outer circle: tally the number of times the assigned student in the inner circle spoke; Circle the appropriate grade on the “evaluator” side

3. Let’s Move On! The Iliad by Homer
Watch the video on The Trojan War; take notes in the “K” section of KWL chart
What do you Want to know? Write three questions in the “W” section of KWL chart
Research these questions and write the answers in the “L” section of KWL chart
Completed KWL chart is due on Wednesday, April 15, 2015

How you teach the lesson is up to you and your group. See the guide with the dates you will teach your lesson. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR BEING IN CLASS THAT DAY!!! This is not an assignment that can be made up easily. We would have to have a parent conference if you miss you day to teach in class. Don’t let your group down!
