Privilege: What does it mean?
Definition from Webster: “A special right, advantage, or immunity granted availability only to a particular person or group of people.” Ex: Historically, many African Americans in the United States were denied privileges such as: access to restrooms, front seats on the bus, and integrated education.

What does Privilege require?
A desired object/right: Ex: Access to integrated education. A Ruling “Privileged” Group: This group will often make choices that enable them to maintain power. Ex: The white majority in the South, who controlled all areas of political power. A Suppressed Group: Ex: African American citizens who wanted integrated education.
