Industry can continue to submit comments and data until October 2017. 46,000 comments were submitted during the comment period with about 100 that will require detail investigation by PMRA. December 2017 is target date for PMRA to complete final risk assessment for Imidacloprid including risk assessment for pollinators From ASTA comments “Over the past year, our sector has experienced a series of proposed re-evaluation decisions that have lacked the transparency and predictability that we have come to expect and need from the PMRA. For example, before announcing the plan to phase out imidacloprid, the Agency had no prior engagement with either the farm community or the registrant of imidacloprid. Dialogue with the industry should be initiated from the time PMRA flags a potential concern. This is a crucial challenge function and essential to ensuring decisions are informed by all available data.” Some idea that PMRA is listening to these concerns.
