5. What We Learned Have a plan (determine what your learners need/want)
Have a knowledgeable teacher (experience matters)
Be brief (at first – teach at the appropriate learner level)
Be flexible (let the learners guide the curriculum)
Use the tools as part of instruction.
A learner/Instructor ratio of no more than 5.
Address a real project during training. (Iowa grad student had a real project and prepared metadata before Joe returned from trip.)
