1 Religious Stereotypes
Stereotypes: a widely held but fixed and oversimplified image or idea of a particular type of person or thing

2 Widely Held Unfortunately, stereotypes are difficult to avoid because of how prevalent they can be in peoples thinking. This will also be the challenge when it comes to bursting them.

3 Oversimplified While many stereotypes can be rooting in some form of reality. Many take a person and make them nothing more than an offensive image. Stereotypes can eliminate the person with an often negative idea.

4 What stereotypes can you identify?
Make a list:

5 Prejudice preconceived opinion that is NOT based on reason or actual experience.

6 Preconceived Like stereotypes prejudice can be rooted in the minds of many. These are ideas that are made before any knowledge has been obtained. When we make up our minds before we learn, we are being prejudice.

7 No reason of experience
One of the most harmful aspects of prejudice is that it is often created without any real interaction. It is a mind set that is held and defended despite the absolute lack of experience.

8 Journal Instructions Journaling will be a time to reflect on your ideas of the topics we have discussing in class. It is a chance to work through your ideas and thoughts and record them for a later time. You are excepted to write a minimum of 1 paragraph 5-6 sentence.
