6 Industrial Undergraduate Student Research Awards (IUSRA)
What are the options? “Individual Travel” Level 1 “Workshops” Level 3 “Networking Events” Level 2 First collaboration Connect Grant Connect Level 1 Up to $5,000 for travel costs related to the development of new academic-industry partnerships in natural sciences or engineering research. Connect Level 2 Up to $10,000 for non-recurring, regionally oriented activities or events aimed at developing or promoting new academic-industry partnerships in natural sciences or engineering research, as well as student-industry training opportunities. Connect Level 3 Up to $25,000 for non-recurring, nationally oriented research planning workshops aimed at building substantial new collaborations in natural sciences or engineering research between post-secondary researchers and partners in industry, government, not-for profit or other knowledge end-user groups. Engage Other Grants* Experience Awards Industrial Undergraduate Student Research Awards (IUSRA) 6 * Collaborative R&D (CRD) or others

7 Where to Start? Experience Awards Engage Grants
Company – 2 full-time employees $4,500 for a 16-week internship Coop – 2 consecutive awards 15 per year maximum Engage Grants New collaboration only Up to $25,000 for 6 months No cash, IP company owned Collaborative R&D (CRD) 1 – 5 years $25,000 - $1M/year Cost shared (50% Cash + 50% IK) 15 Experience Awards = $67,500 Full-time students, with a minimum B- average MUN) or cumulative GPA = 2.65, working on R&D projects Student applies to Company and Company applies to NSERC To-date: Waterloo (274), Dalhousie (42), Memorial (39), Concordia (36), McGill (34), UNB (32) 7
