What makes a Stanza? A recurring unit of meter, rhythm or rhyme that is used in a poem There are three separate kinds of stanzas

What makes a Stanza? Isometric Stanza: The lines are the same length
Heterometric Stanza: The lines are different lengths Quasi-Stanzic: Loose groupings of lines and paragraphs of verse (quasi means having some of the features of)

What makes a Stanza? The repetition of rhyming and lineation (line length) gives the stanza it’s form and power Stanzas can be both an independent poetic form and part of ballads etc. Poets would create patterns with stanzas to give the reader something to view as they read the poem
