A brief review…..

2. Election September 2017

3. 1st years elected in November

4. Comhairle na nOg, AGM County Hall. October 2017
Libby Daly and Tara O’ Donovan signed up the Co. Cork Comhairle for a 2 year term.
They are bringing the voice of young people in Bantry to this youth parliament.

5. Some activities….
November - Open Night, Caroline and Eli spoke to the incoming 1st years and parents.
Other Student Council members guided visitors and tried to help incoming 1st years with subject option choices especially.

6. Continuing project….
Michelle investigated the possibility of setting up a stationary shop in the school as suggested by last year’s council.
We decided that too much work could fall on the staff in the office so we abandoned that idea.

7. Christmas Jumper Day, 2017 We held this in December.
It created a good atmosphere around the school and raised much needed funds for the Simon Community.

8. Other activities….
We worked with Mairead in the canteen and the Green School Committee to encourage students to bring in reusable mugs.
We spoke to all classes, put up posters and made announcements on the intercom.
Unfortunately not too many people brought in their own cups, hopefully next year they will……….!!

9. Proposal to Management
We recently presented a proposal to Mr Healy about seating areas at lunchtime. He was very positive about our suggestions and described the proposal as “proactive”.
Our plan is to be implemented in September 2018.

10. Tip Rugby Blitz Back by popular demand!......A great success!
Over 250 students involved.
400 Euro was raised for Bantry Hospice.
We hope we have created fun memories of our schooldays.
