How can you describe objects completely?
First look at a group of objects and notice as many of them as you can.
Then write down their names.
Lastly write down descriptions in detail.
Review to check that you wrote them all down as completely as possible.

Write an “IF…, THEN…” statement about how to describe a group of objects completely.
For example: If I describe a group of objects completely, then…
I observed them carefully, and
everyone will know exactly what I observed by understanding my exact description.

7. Procedure A: Observed Objects
Study a set of objects for one minute.
After the objects have been removed, write down the names of all objects you remember.
Discuss your list with the rest of your group.
Add items to your list if you missed any.
Write the words “TOTAL NUMBER OBSERVED” and record how many total items you listed.
Draw a line under all of that work.

8. Procedure B: Missed Objects
Look at the set of objects again.
As you listen to the complete description of each object, write down the names of any objects you missed the first time.
Write the words “TOTAL NUMBER MISSED” and record the number of objects you missed from the first time.

9. Procedure C: Bar Graph Make a small bar graph in the margin.
Title it “ITEMS NOTICED”
Y-axis Title is “NUMBER”, X-axis Title “ITEMS”
Number the y-axis appropriately
Space out three bars going up from the x-axis
The 1st for the number of items “SEEN”
The 2nd for the number of items from “GROUP”
The 3rd for the number of items “MISSED”

On separate paper, rewrite one of your lab descriptions from the box COMPLETELY.
