Figure 1 Outcomes after mitral valve repair of myxomatous bileaflet prolapse. Overall survival, freedom from recurrent MR (≥2+), and freedom from mitral valve reoperation shown. At follow-up, 6 patients died, 4 patients had recurrent MR (≥2+), and 2 patients underwent mitral valve reoperation. The mean clinical follow-up interval was 3.0 ± 2.1 years, and the mean echocardiographic follow-up interval was 2.6 ± 2.1 years.
