Use the node-voltage method of circuit analysis to find the branch currents in the circuit shown ECE 201 Circuit Theory 1

Determine the number of essential nodes
There are two essential nodes. Thus there will be one node-voltage equation. Identify the nodes as “ground” and “1”. ECE 201 Circuit Theory 1

Identify the currents “out of the node(s)”
Write the node-voltage equation and solve for v1. ECE 201 Circuit Theory 1

Solve for the branch currents

Both sources deliver power
Find the power associated with each source, and state whether the source is delivering power or absorbing power. For the 50 V source, For the 3A current source, Both sources deliver power Total Power = 220W ECE 201 Circuit Theory 1

Check the power dissipated by the resistors.
