3. Battle of Messines 1917
In 1917, British miners planted and detonated 900,000 lbs of explosives in 19 underground tunnels.
Some believe that the explosion was heard 140 miles away by the Prime Minister at Downing Street!
Approximately 10,000 German soldiers were killed by this attack.

4. S1 Cake Design Competition Winners
Congratulations to Ellis Penfold, Annelise Hoy & Murrin McLean.
Mr Robertson thought the quality & creativity of all the entrants was exceptional and found it difficult to decide upon the winners.
