Month Total # CA positions # vacant CA positions # CA's in pre-service training Average Caseload Size July 2017 165 13 20.68 August 2017 9 21.17 September 2017 11 21.20 October 2017 19.97 November 2017 10 20.22 December 2017 6 19.66 January 2018 19.82 February 2018 18.70 March 2018 20.03 April 2018 21.05 May 2018 19 21.59 June 2018 18 July 2018 170 19.20 August 2018 17 20.06 September 2018 4 23 19.83 October 2018 16 14 19.17 Our overall average for caseloads went from last month to this month which is an increase from last month.  Our certified staff increased from to    The current training who began March 12th included 9 trainees took their post-test April 26th in which 2 did not pass the post test.  The remaining 7 staff are included in these caseload stats in which they received their first case during their 2 weeks training workshops.   They will be transitioning to their initial caseload of 5 cases/10 children.  In addition, I want to advise that we do have some factors skewing our averages with some specialty positions having low numbers while still in transitioning phase.  Our next training class will begin May 29th.       Our staff caseload ranges increased in the category of 0-10 and ranges and decreased in categories of and range.   Overall, we are continuing to move in the right direction but some units this month and last month due to vacancies have seen an increase in their caseload numbers.   Please note that there are 0 staff with over 40 children on their caseload, however, there are 4 staff with at or over 35 children on their caseload due to vacancies or FMLA.  Moving to the next threshold of over 30 children but under 35 children, we have a total of 7 staff – and The three new units have been in place a little over a year and increasing their unit numbers which allowed for the decreased number of advocates per supervisor and children/cases for some of the higher cases/children units.  This continues to provide relief to the supervisor workloads.  We had several units early last year that had over 200 children per unit/supervisor which has steadily been decreasing with the additional units added as well as moving cases to safe permanency and closure.   We no longer have had any units over 200 children.  As of 05/04/18, we have 1 case management unit over 160 children with 164 children and we have 1 additional case management unit at or over 150 but below ) and an overall average of children (increase from from last month) per case management unit/supervisor.   We do need to continue to monitor equity of caseloads and unit caseloads across the divisions, departments, and agency.       Data through October 31, 2018
