Do Now: Answer one of the following questions below: ) Why are you grateful to live during this time period (2018) as opposed to Lincoln’s time period (1863)? 2.) What do you believe Lincoln would be grateful for at the time of “The Gettysburg Address”? *Show HW: vocabulary story.

Common Core Standards: W , W , SL Tuesday, November 20th, 2018 Aim: How can we improve our writing skills with peer critiques? Objective: Students will be able to critique each other’s writing. Agenda Do Now: Turn and talk with your tablemates. Captains will share with the class. Work Period: Read a partner’s vocabulary story. Using the Academic Language Scripts handout, critique (review/analyze) their story by using 5 questions/sentence starters. Discussion/Reflection: Students will share their critiques. Why was this activity helpful to improve our writing? What can you PREDICT we will do as a follow-up activity/assignment?
