Johannes Brahms Born in Hamburg, Germany on May 7, 1833
Father was a musician Is considered one of the “3 B’s” of Classical music (Bach & Beethoven are the other 2) Began playing the piano at age 7 As a teenager, Brahms earned money at local establishments to help ease family’s financial burden Met Schumann in Schumann publically praised Brahms as a genius, which helped Brahms become world-famous

Johannes Brahms Brahms gave his last performance in March 1897 in Vienna. He died a month later, on April 3, 1897, from complications due to cancer. “Symphony No. 1, 4th movement”
