4 Multidisciplinary Loosely formed groups of professionals who consult with one another Aligned with medical, pull-out model Not designed to keep a child in the LRE Assessments done in isolation and not shared with all stakeholders Least collaborative model © 2016 Taylor & Francis

5 Interdisciplinary Similar model, but higher degree of collaboration than multidisciplinary Collaboration happens in meetings, not delivery of service Common among different specialists in a school setting Schools may use IAT or Intervention Assistance Teams © 2016 Taylor & Francis

6 Transdisciplinary Interactive and dynamic
Specialists provide services in a coordinated manner through three phases: Phase one: organizing the team Phase two: facilitating the team process Phase three: the team is further developed and implemented in order to best serve students © 2016 Taylor & Francis

7 Transdisciplinary Transdisciplinary teams should have:
A regular meeting schedule Be inclusive Efficient goal development Trust and communication Administrative support Role release Arena assessment © 2016 Taylor & Francis

8 Team Members Teams can be made up of a variety of individuals
Family members–they know the child and his/her background the best Educators–both general and special education Therapists–SLP, PT, OT, etc. Medical and other personnel–this may vary depending on the child’s relevant needs © 2016 Taylor & Francis
