Puyallup Programs for Highly Capable Learners PAGE

Identification Must have an application and parent consent form on file before testing is scheduled. Online process – district website, Instructional Leadership, Highly Capable CogAT Testing for PAGE will occur in January at the Testing Center located at Ferrucci Junior High. Usual testing time is from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm. Parents provide transportation to and from testing location.

Identification Tests: Cognitive Abilities Test (multiple choice)
Three batteries Verbal – how well they reason with words Quantitative – how well they reason with numbers Nonverbal – how well they reason with shapes/figures Orleans-Hanna Algebra Prognosis Test 6th graders only Writing Assessment

Identification PAGE Algebra I and Science – current 6th graders

Selection and Placement
Multidisciplinary Selection Committee Meets in January Reviews data Recommends students based on evidence collected Placement Parents notified of test results and placement decision via US mail. Junior high registration materials completed by parent/student.

Timeline December 8 – Application deadline January – Testing period:
CogAT Orleans-Hanna Writing Assessment January 11 – Decisions made End of January – Families receive results Early February – Junior high registration

Current Transportation Model
PAGE students may ride district transportation to and from Kalles from one of the following hubs: Carson, Stahl, Zeiger, Woodland, Fruitland, Pope, Ridgecrest, Sunrise, Wildwood, Shaw Road, Maplewood, Northwood, Edgemont, Mt. View, Karshner. (Waller Road if needed) An activity bus is available for PAGE students who attend an after-school activity at Kalles. The transportation department must be notified to schedule the route and PAGE attendance must be verified.
