Restore the .sqz file of the backup into TMGv4
Make a backup of the project from TMGv4 (another different .sqz file)
Open TMGv9 and restore this .sqz file
Don’t forget to make a backup of this restored project too

3. How are Text Macros used?
Menu “Tools, Text Macros” to bring up Text Macros window
Can define Shift+F2 through Shift+F12
Enter text into the appropriate field for the desired key
Use a semi-colon where you want to enter the Tab character
Click on “Help” for special circumstances
To enter the text, hold down the Shift+Fn key

4. How do you make sure that your backup is good after you’ve made it?
Execute file maintenance commands
Menu “File, Maintenance, Optimize”
Menu “File, Maintenance, Reindex”
Menu “File, Maintenance, Validate File Integrity”
Until numbers resulting from the optimize don’t change
Then make your backup
After you make your backup, examine Menu “Report, Project Information” and note the numbers under “Records” and “Size”
After you restore your backup, examine Menu “Report, Project Information” and note the numbers under “Records” and “Size”

Scroll down to find the special character that you need
To use that character
Click on it, then click on the “Select” button
Double-click on it
To place that character (or characters) into your text
Click on “Copy” button
Move to place in your text to insert character (or characters)
Paste it/them with CTRL/V

6. How do you manually change a source number?

Menu “Tools, Master Source List”
In the Master Source List
Select the source whose number you’d like to change
Click on the “Renumber” button
Use the default selection “Renumber one source”
In the “To:” field,
Either type in the new source number
Or click in that field and press F2 key to bring up a list of unused source numbers and then select one from that list

7. How do I find people with a specific middle name (e.g., Glenn)?
Open Project Explorer and click on the “Filter” icon
In the “Filter the Project Explorer” window
In the “Filter” tab, enter
First line – Field: GivenName, Operator: Ends with, Value: glenn, Connect: AND
Second line – Field: GivenName, Operator: Does not begin with, Value: glenn, Connect: END
Click OK
In the “Filter progress” window, QUICKLY click on the text “Do not close this window automatically” if you would like more time to view it
Click on the “Close” button
