School Curriculum Design
School curriculum design should address the national & local standards, as well as student needs. Using the theory of Jay McTighe & Grant Wiggins design curriculum “backwards” (Understanding by Design) based on desired outcomes 1st define student outcomes 2nd design curriculum to produce those outcomes

KHDA International Testing Requirements
Not aligned to curriculum. Assesses students on the ability to exhibit specific skills in various situations. MAP Assesses students progress & automatically adapts based on students individual ability IBT Assesses performance in English, Math, & Science & compares with students internationally between grades overtime. PIRLS Assesses students on literacy and numeracy (word problems) ability to help schools make evidence-based decisions on improving students’ achievement. CAT 4 Assesses students abilities in 4 key areas: Quantitative Verbal Non-Verbal Spatial Results show student’s academic potential; strengths, weaknesses, and thinking preferences to adapt teaching accordingly.

TOEFL Assesses students on English language proficiency SAT Assesses students ability to do college-level work Assesses students understanding of material and ability to do college-level work & earn college credits while in high school.
