9 Creating a Strategic Communications Plan
Ask questions about: Current messaging Audiences Outlets Challenges Create a roadmap to a successful outcome (goals, objectives)

10 Poll Question Which element of a communications plan may be the most difficult for your SPDG? Messaging: Who you are, what you do, value you provide, rationale Audiences: Everyone with whom you must communicate, then prioritized Break them up by importance into groups of 3 Ask yourself if your message will be meaningful to these groups Goals: Long-term aspirations of an ideal future state. A sample goal: “Increase participation in rural areas.” Objective: Intended outcomes that are specific and measurable Strategies: Provide direction, focus, and guidance. This is the how. Tactics: Actionable items to help achieve strategies. Consider resources and time. Make a list of channels you control, channels others control but don’t have a cost, and those that have a cost.
