Hebrews 10:19-25(NKJV) 19 Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, 21 and having a High Priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

Hebrews 10:19-25(NKJV) 23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

Our theme for 2017 is Faithfulness We have tried to study together different aspects of this important subject It’s important for us to think about the many ways in which God has told us to be faithful

There is an important avenue of faithfulness that we need not miss The religious world would have us believe that this is not an important aspect of faithfulness However, the Bible would tell us differently

Our faithfulness to the church and to our brethren is so very important to our spiritual walk We should seriously consider what this means to ourselves, but what it also means to others Let’s consider this subject together…

Hebrews 10:19-25 The context of the book of Hebrews is a book that has been written to Christians who were considering gong back into Judaism In other words, they were thinking of walking away from the church

The words written here in Hebrews shows the importance of faithfulness to the church It was important for the individual Christian It would also have a great effect upon the whole as well

One of the main reasons given for faithfulness is God’s faithfulness (v. 23) Much evidence was already given as to why they should stay faithful Then the author turns the attention to others (vs )

So in our text, these Christians were being told to stay faithful to the church They were to consider themselves, but to also consider “one another” Our faithfulness to our brethren is vital to us and to those men and women as well

There was a reason the early church was together as much as they were The fellowship they enjoyed together was to help each of them as they struggled together as new converts in a world and society that was hostile to Christians (Acts 2:42-47)

As the body of Christ, we should seek help, comfort and encouragement through others We should also look to give those things to others Share in each others joys and sufferings (Rom. 12:15)

Think of all the “one another” passages that we read of in the NT Those are proof that no man is to live to himself, but we do have responsibilities to each other These things are helpful and needful

There are roughly 50 passages in the NT that mention our responsibility to “one another” “Be kindly affectionate to one another…” (Rom. 12:10) “…love one another…” (Rom. 13:8)

“…through love serve one another” (Gal. 5:13) “Bear one another’s burdens…” (Gal. 6:2) “Be kind to one another…forgiving one another…” (Eph. 4:32)

“…teaching and admonishing one another…” (Col. 3:16) “Therefore comfort each other and edify one another…” (I Thess. 5:11) “…pray for one another…” (Js. 5:16) “Be hospitable to one another” (I Pet. 4:9)
