Introduction Physical examinations
Performed in the physician’s office, in clinics, after the patient’s admission to a facility, and in the patient’s home Carry out each beginning procedure and completion procedure action as you assist

Positioning the Patient
Some positions are: Dorsal recumbent position Supine or horizontal recumbent position Knee-chest position Prone position

Some positions are: Sims’ position Semi-Fowler’s position Trendelenburg position Dorsal lithotomy position

Physical Examination Some health care facilities have examining instruments and equipment collected on trays At other facilities, you will gather the necessary equipment and assemble it

Physical Examination Some facilities use disposable gowns, sheets, and instruments for the physical examination The nursing assistant is responsible for discarding these items after the exam
