Head Office Emergency Evacuation Plan
2
Fire Procedures UPON DISCOVERY OF A FIRE
Alert occupants – SOUND FIRE ALARM by activating one of the fire pull stations located at all Stairwells and leave the fire area immediately. Close ALL doors behind you. Use nearest safe exit to leave the building and proceed to the designated assembly area. Do not return to the building unless a fire official indicates that it is safe to do so. UPON HEARING OF THE FIRE ALARM Remain calm, begin to evacuate the building Before opening a door, feel the door and doorknob for heat. If they are hot, brace yourself against the door and open it slightly. If you see smoke, or feel air pressure or a hot draft, close the door quickly. If the corridor is free of fire and/or smoke, close the door behind you and leave by the nearest exit.

Fire Procedures Continued
IF YOU CANNOT LEAVE YOUR AREA Close the door but leave it unlocked for possible entry by firefighters Dial (9)9-1-1 and give the Oakville Fire Department the building name and address (Weight Watchers – 2295 Bristol Circle Unit #200) and your location in the building. Seal all cracks where smoke can enter the room. Seal air-conditioning outlets as necessary (a role of wide masking tape/duct tape, newspaper, magazines, office paper, rolled up clothing may be useful). DO NOT ATTEMPT TO SEAL ELECTRICAL OUTLETS. Keep low to the floor if smoke enters the room. Wait to be rescued. Remain calm. Do not panic. Listen to instructions or information given by authorized personnel.
