SYNOPSIS
Most of the researches have shown that intimate partner violence is always the highest.
Human beings are sexual beings and we have made it a taboo to talk about issues around it.
It is a reality that GBV impacts more women and Girls
Collaboration is the key to addressing GBV, including utilising each others strengthens and weakness
GBV needs a holistic approach, the need to provide a solution to the main problem

To raise awareness on GBV and sexual reproductive health
To help women living with HIV identify their position and understand how GBV and SRH impacts on them.
Give GBV and SRH a face and a voice

BACKGROUND
Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights as the solution to HIV/AIDS
The activity was prompted by high GBV on women in Botswana which is reported at 67 %
SRH deals with Sexually transmitted diseases and HIV itself is an STI
GBV is infringement to individual rights, and any attempt or to link GBV and SRH will be the right approach
To raise awareness ,reduce GBV and show linkages with SRH

People do not easily open up to discuss acts of sex
Lack of support system for service providers as they are also human beings
Ignorance of understanding women issues
Most of the intervention tools are in English not local languages

27. LESSON LEARNED AND INNOVATION
We have learnt how widespread, how prevalent and how concealed/overt the incidences of GBV, STI’s and other women issues are.
In most instances cases problems are only discovered when children have long suffered from defilement and have fallen pregnant, when children are found to be infected with STI’s on normal clinic visits.

Face and Voice are the key to advocacy
Sharing of experiences is more effective
Feedback and responses on either positive or negatives are essential improvement
Success and failure to reduce GBV depends on community involvement and commitment

We are sharing our stories and experiences, and using them as an entry point to all the cases that we handle
We have changed the language, by being truthful in calling and naming issues without compromising
