12 Site Selection Data Q&A
When in the process and at what level do you reach out to an EDO? State, Local, Regional What’s the most important data an EDO can provide? What data usually gets left out more than others when EDOs respond to RFPs? What effect does this have? What is the gain from providing it? © 2016 IMPACT DATASOURCE

13 Site Selection Data Q&A
According to IEDC, 16 % of organizations use the data standards Does this surprise you based on experience? EDOs listed the following as important data that is usually not collected access to broadband internet, outsiders’ impressions of community, export and trade activity, job openings per sector, jobs filled by college graduate in the community, value added per employee, ratio of housing price to income, percent of locally owned businesses, improvement in region’s “competitive position” in the global economy. Is it important? Make or break a deal? © 2016 IMPACT DATASOURCE

15 Paul’s take IEDC Data Doc
Why are we even talking about ED Data standards – isn’t data everywhere? Some critical data isn’t available – sites and utilities EDOs need to know how the data portrays the community Is data only about site selection / attraction? EDOs need and use data for attraction AND operation Is the research doc too nerdy? Nope, good mix of information that is digestible and accessible but with enough detail to direct future efforts if desired. new-iedc-edrp-data-standards/ © 2016 IMPACT DATASOURCE
