This presentation, delivered to the new parents of the school’s youngest students, quickly introduces them to the idea of “Protocols” and gives them a quick summary of key points to keep in mind as the school year starts This presentation is also ed to parents so they can use it as a ready reference In slide #4, the teacher walks the parents through the school schedule & timetable, highlighting the fact that the school has 2 breaks: therefore, parents should send sufficient food for both the snack break & the lunch break. In slide #5, the teacher walks the parents through the Parent Partnership processes at Riverside. The teacher highlights the workshops for parents that the school conducts, and shares the rough dates when they will be scheduled. This allows parents to plan ahead informs the about processes such as home visits, Making Learning Visible (MLV), etc. and invites & encourages parents to actively participate by volunteering their time during school trips, etc. In slide #6, teacher introduces them to the school’s policy on common topics such as bus safety and identification , the policy for birthdays, gifts, and other common protocols that apply through the school year such as attendance, etc. In slide #7, the teacher briefly lists & reminds parents of items such as a pair of clothes, etc. that should be sent with the child at the start of the school year
