What ruins a night out/event?
6
Negative Examples Scenario One: Due to lack of awareness regarding alcohol consumption a member of a club fell down the Campus Centre steps and split their head open, which then lead to her being taken to A&E.
7
Negative Examples Scenario Two: A member didn’t feel welcomed or comfortable in a social situation which left them leaving the society.
8
Negative Examples Scenario Three: A Fresher joined a society and was peer pressured into a situation where they weren’t comfortable, which then lead to them feeling down and upset.

Top Tips to Deal with Alcohol Related Accidents
If you are at the scene of an accident, call the emergency services as soon as possible. Once you’ve called for help, if the person who needs it is unconscious, make sure their airway is open. If they are sick and their throat or tongue becomes blocked with vomit, they can choke and stop breathing.

What does a wise social event look like?
18
Introduce new members to the committee (make the Healthy and Safety role more known).
Make it known you’re a friendly face they can come and talk too. Set boundaries (you’re not there to mummy cuddle them). Look out for each other. Be aware of peoples limits. No peer pressure. Common sense. Set a variety of non-drinking socials in addition.
19
Sponsorships Tuesday 26th September deadline for all signatures and delivered to the office. Please find attached the Sponsorship form in the Committee resources online (due to be updated). Change to come to protect your group from not receiving your sponsorship.
