Standard Form of a Parabola What is the related function? What is the x-value of the vertex? What is the axis of symmetry? What is the y-value of the vertex? What would a parabola that has 1 or 2 zeros look like? What would a parabola with no zeros look like?

4 A dolphin jumps out of the water . The quadratic function
models the dolphin’s height, h(t), above the water in feet after t seconds. How long is the dolphin out of the water?

5 A squirrel is in a tree holding a chestnut at a height 46 feet above the ground. It drops the chestnut, which lands atop a bush that is 36 feet below the squirrel. The function models the height in feet of the chestnut as it falls after t seconds. How long does it take the chestnut to reach the top of the bush?
