Gwarchod Natur ar gyfer y Dyfodol | Protecting Wildlife for the Future
Conservation Law Date: Saturday 15th March 2013 Time: 10am - 4pm Venue: Parc Slip Wildlife Trust Centre & Nature Reserve Tutor: Professor Lynda Warren This course will give an overview of the national and international legislation concerning the conservation of protected sites, species and their habitats and is essential for those working in or pursuing a career in nature conservation. The course will predominantly be classroom based, with field sessions looking at potential scenarios concerning wildlife and conservation legislation. Participants will be able to gain knowledge and experience on the conservation legislation governing much of our protected sites and species, including: The EC Habitats Directive The EC Birds Directive In addition to the background of the Directives the course will analyse case studies across the U.K. where conservation legislation has been used, giving participants an insight into the practical applications and implications of conservation legislation. The course will also look at how conservation law affects planning decisions and land management as well as relevant licenses necessary to undertake activities potentially impacting on protected wildlife, habitats and designated sites.
