1 ABC Book Ancient China By Lucia Hall

2 A is for Asia Wudi, the first of the Han Dynasty, sent troops through the Gobi Desert and around Central Asia.

3 B is for Boundary One of Ancient China’s greatest achievements was the Great Wall of China. Its job was to keep out invaders.

4 C is for Camel During trading of on the Silk Road, camels carried most of the treasure.

5 D is for Dangerous The Silk Road was a dangerous trail that was used to trade not just things, but ideas.

6 E is for the Eldest In the rule of the Han Dynasty, the eldest son was considered the most important because he would carry out more of the family legacy.

7 F is for Fable (Maybe) The Xia Dynasty thought of to be the first dynasty, though there is no proof, so many think of it as a legend or Fable.

8 G is for Gobi Desert The gobi Desert was a nearly uncrossable desert that is to the north of China

9 Zhou dynasty was what the Chinese call the Mandate of Heaven.

10 I is for Ideas Confucius had great ideas of how Chinese people should act and treat each other.

11 J is for Jie The Shang Dynasty was said to have overthrown the tyrant Xia Jie from the Xia Dynasty.

12 K is for Kung-Fu The Ancient Chinese invented a form of fighting that was respectful and it was taught at a monastery

13 L is for Legalism Qin Shi Huang Di, a harsh ruler, developed a new philosophy called legalism, which was a series of strict laws.

14 M is for Mountain The Tibetan plateau is a Geographical boundary, that is made up of tall mountains, that separated China from the rest of the world.

15 N is for Northwest The Northwest part of China developed a strong military under the command of Qin Shi Huang Di

16 O is for Officials The Qin divided China into 36 Districts and put local Officials on the job to govern them.

17 P is for paper & porcelain
The Ancient Chinese developed a lot of things, including a form of paper that was similar to the the paper we use today and porcelain, a hard, fine clay that was wildly traded on the Silk Road.

18 The Qin Dynasty was the first Dynasty to rule over a unified China.

19 R is for Respect Confucius wanted everyone to Respect their Elders and treat others the way they wanted to be treated.

20 S is for Sandy The Gobi desert was part of the Silk Road and was part of the many things that made it more treacherous.

21 T is for Tortoise Shell The Shang dynasty wrote records on the bones of animals, such as a tortoise shell.

22 U is for Unique The Zhou dynasty didn't invade and conquer other places like so many other dynasties did.

23 V is for Vietnam The Han Dynasty was strong and took over central and Northern, what is now, Vietnam.

24 W is for Writing The Ancient Chinese invented a form of writing with more than a thousand characters.

25 X is for Xia Dynasty The Xia Dynasty is thought of to be the first Dynasty, though we have no proof it existed, But Dynasties after it referred back to the Xia.

26 Y is for Yellow River The Yellow River was a river that was one of the cradles of civilizations. It is really yellow.

28 Z is for Zhou Dynasty The Zhou Dynasty was one of the longest lasting Dynasties there was, but their Dynasty collapsed around 256 B.C.
