Multi-turn Selection and Pricing
Standard multiturn valve operating speeds: 12 inches per minute standard for gate valves 4 inches per minute standard for globe valves Required multiturn actuator operating speeds (SA actuator RPM): SA actuator RPM = Number of stem turns per inch X required stem speed Example: 4 turns per inch of travel X 12 inches per minute = 48 rpm The actuator output usually doesn’t exactly match the required speed, so we have to calculate the actual stem speed and inform the customer Example: 48 rpm is between SA speeds 38 and 54, so we will select 54 rpm Actual stem speed = 54 rpm ÷ 4 turns per inch = 13.5 inches per minute
