2 Assemblies The following assemblies are due to take place this week.  You must go to class and register with your teacher who will then direct you to the hall. S4, S5 and S6 on Tuesday, 28th August starting at 8.45 S1 and S3 on Tuesday, 28th August starting at 14.50 S2 on Wednesday, 29th August starting at

3 Outward Bound Pupils who have signed up for the Outward Bound course must attend a meeting in room 24 on Tuesday, 28th August at 1.45pm. Anyone interested in signing up should also attend.

4 WORLD CHALLENGE Could the pupils taking part in World Challenge – please see Dr Gray to arrange a catch-up  meeting.

5 Air Cadets Aged between 12(and in S2) and 17? Want to try something new this school year? Then come along to the Perie VC Cadet Centre, Princes St, Huntly, on the 30th August and find out more about joining the Air Cadets. The evening starts at 7pm and will include displays, try out sessions and a talk for parents. There’s a lot more to the Air Cadets than just flying so even if you don’t have a particular interest in aviation, come along and find out what we do!

7 KGS Darts Club When: Monday Lunchtime, 1330-1400
Where: Room 11 (Mr Geddes - Maths) Do I need my own darts? – No! Can I use my own darts? – Yes, but you must bring them to Mr Geddes first thing, then collect at the end of the day.

9 Lunchtime Homework Club
Having trouble logging onto “Show my Homework” at home? Forgot to do your homework? Come along to Room 12 at lunchtimes on Monday or Thursday where you can use the computers to complete your homework.

10 British Sign Language (BSL) lunchtime club at KGS
Are you interested in learning a new skill, wish to boost your ability to communicate with others, perhaps you already sign or know friends or family who do…. We are hoping to set up a British Sign Language Club at KGS and we need you! There will be an initial meeting to gauge interest from staff and pupils on Wednesday 29th August from pm in E1 (Mrs Bayliss’ Room). All welcome – staff, pupils, with or without signing experience.

11 Art & Design Department
Art & Design: The department will be open every Wednesday lunchtime 1.30pm – 2.00pm for all year groups. Come along to Room 20 to spend extra time on your classwork, own artwork or simply doodle! You may bring your lunch.

12 Jobsfair at Moray College
There is a Jobsfair at Moray College on Thursday, 13th September 2018 from 4:30- 6:30. Careers advisers will also be there.

15 Canteen Pre-Order Friday
You can pre-order baguettes and snacks at break time on Friday so you can pick up before you leave the school or go on the bus! Please see Catering Staff for details.

16 FINDHORN FESTIVAL Are you in S4. S5 or S6?
Are you interested in the Scots Language? Are you available on the evening of Thursday 27th September? If the answer to these questions is YES, then you will want to come along to: Take My Word For It: a discussion on Scotland as a bi-lingual nation (4 – 6pm) Just like on the television programme ‘Question Time’, Jim Tough will chair a discussion with a panel of ‘experts’. You will be able to listen to and follow a debate surrounding the idea of bi- lingualism in Scotland. This is an excellent opportunity to listen to argument and to ask questions of your own. Then we’d go for tea somewhere nice, followed by: The Buke of the Howlat (from 7.30pm) A promenade (walking) dramatisation of a 15th Century Scots poem involving a team of actor- musicians, a choir and a community cast to tell a tale that’s set in Moray. The total cost will by £8.00 plus the cost of your tea - transport will be provided free of charge. If interested, please see Mrs Daley, Room 31 no later than Friday 31st August - first come, first served.
