This myth is about a half-mortal named Maui. He is not the smartest, half-god-like, ugly, and he has tattoos all over his body. This myth shows how Maui can get what he wants and changes things through brute force. He wanted to change the sun because the people worked too hard in the little day light. He physically made the sun move slower and changed the sky. Then, he hit his brother in the nose since he would not share and used his blood to catch fish.
