Discussion leading into Abstract/Concrete descriptions (Follow Powerpoint) Take Notes on Concrete/Abstract and discuss/share examples Divide into partners (within your pod) and complete the Abstract/Concrete quiz to check for your understanding Turn in today before you leave! Name at least three things about yourself that are different from anyone else you know. Get out your Abstract Word paragraph Discussion of Concrete/Abstract paragraph (handout green packet) -Share examples & show process of revising to eliminate abstract terms using the handout  - Continue with deliberately choosing words for an effect on our readers Go through your paragraph and circle all abstract words in your paragraph Now rewrite your paragraph and TAKE OUT all the abstract words. What is not finished today in class is homework & is due at the beginning of class tomorrow – 1st and 2nd drafts! 2/28/2019
