4 Feature 1 - Minimal set up time Vision based alignment
Device image is taught and referenced to ideal position. All adjustments done via on screen tools. Each future pick-up, checks X-Y-Theta and adjusts device position before pick-up. Same technique is used at test site. Same technique used for output pockets before depositing devices. Confidential and Proprietary to Peak Automation, Inc. © 2011 All rights reserved.

5 Feature 1 (continued) - Minimal set up time Wizard step-by-step set up
Touch screen user interface Pop up windows with selection buttons and specific data requests On screen jogging with live vision for adjustments Extensive help screens Confidential and Proprietary to Peak Automation, Inc. © 2011 All rights reserved.

6 Feature 1 (continued) - Minimal set up time Quick change fixturing
Modules engage detents at the front and rear of the base plate. A single fastener is used to align and secure the module. All modules plug into the same utility bundle for air/power. Input modules available for JEDEC/Waffle/Tube/Bulk/Detaper Output modules available JEDEC/Waffle/Tube/Bulk/Taper Confidential and Proprietary to Peak Automation, Inc. © 2011 All rights reserved.

7 Feature 1 (continued) - Minimal set up time Eliminate or reduce need to undock to change load board or service test socket Base plate is docking plate, and can be designed to allow removal of load board without undocking from the test head. Cover lifts to provide easy access to load board and test socket Test socket can be removed and/or serviced without undocking. Test socket can be used for manual testing without undocking. 8 Feature 2 - Minimal or no tooling kits No kits needed for JEDEC/waffles. Minimal kits for tubes/bulk/detaper. Most devices only require end effectors. Tray input/output uses vision to fine align, no module kits required. Tube and bulk modules tooled for specific tube sizes. Detaper and taper modules tooled for specific tape sizes. 9 Feature 3 – Small Footprint No kits for JEDEC/waffles
Feature 3 – Small Footprint No kits for JEDEC/waffles. Minimal kits for tubes/bulk/detaper. Handler can be removed from frame for some tester/manipulators. Frame can be configured to match tester/manipulator to minimize floor space, or match other space constraints Confidential and Proprietary to Peak Automation, Inc. © 2011 All rights reserved.

10 Feature 4 – Cost Justifiable Target price, 6 months Engineer’s time.
Affordable price, easy to justify Cost savings: -Replace Engineers manually loading sockets and waiting for test -Reduce Equipment Engineer time to install change kits -Reduce required change kits -Reduce set up time -Reduce time to dock/undock and change load boards and sockets -Reduce damage to test sockets Confidential and Proprietary to Peak Automation, Inc. © 2011 All rights reserved.

11 Feature 5 – Minimize tinkering and jam rate
Vision can be used to automatically check and can align each device at pick up. Microadjustment before pick ensures every part perfectly aligned on end effector. Adjustment in X, Y, and Theta. Vision automatically checks and can align output pocket at output. Microadjustment of pocket before dropping ensures perfect placement in output. Vision can be used to detect jams. Inspection for devices before and after picking/depositing, and at the test socket can detect jams. In some cases, vision can be used to inspect test socket for damaged contacts. Extensive use of sensors to detect jams Informative messages, explain each situation and suggest a resolution. Often pop-up boxes are included with selectable options to resolve. Simple and robust design using field tested techniques. Confidential and Proprietary to Peak Automation, Inc. © 2011 All rights reserved.

12 Feature 6 – Maximum flexibility of programming
Recipe storage for all programs. Automatic recognition of modules. Sort matrix allows any combination of test bin to physical bin Capability for complete traceability of each device through handler Capability to create downloadable output tray maps Capability to sub-divide JEDEC/Waffles Capability for QC testing, Re-testing, and other tester driven functions Capability to reverse the flow (inputoutput then outputinput) for infinite repeat testing traceability Communication with any test platform or protocol: GPIB, RS-232, etc. Communication with network: -Downloadable data/results/maps to LAN. SECS/GEM -Internet: Real time on-line factory support, , text notification of status, etc. Confidential and Proprietary to Peak Automation, Inc. © 2011 All rights reserved.

13 Feature 7 – Maximum flexibility of Integration
Flexible platform allows many possibilities for integration of other processes. -Vision inspection (Peak or 3rd party) -Physical testing -Liquid dispense -Marking -Local area heating/cooling Conveyorized feed through handler Assembly line integratable Confidential and Proprietary to Peak Automation, Inc. © 2011 All rights reserved.

14 Feature 8 – Maximum flexibility of mechanical design
Plug-in modules for JEDEC/Waffles, Tube stacking, Bulk, Detaper, Tape & Reel Detent fixturing aligns modules automatically Pick & Place assembly can be changed or adjusted for various test patterns, single/dual/octal/custom. Orienter built into all end effectors, can rotate devices to match test socket and input/output needs Frame design accommodates any test head/manipulator combo, or can be configured Fixturing can be provided to allow docking to bench-top load boards, mother/daughter boards, or any lab/test jig Lab support for prototype boards Confidential and Proprietary to Peak Automation, Inc. © 2011 All rights reserved.

15 Cost justifications Replace manual insertion: Media transfer time:
$$$ Engineer / Technician time manually inserting parts to socket or procedure Media transfer time: $$$ Engineer / Technician time manually transferring parts between tape/tube/tray/waffle/bulk Packaging expense: $$$ Tape & Reel packaging or media transfer tape/tube/tray/waffle/bulk Time to market: $$$ Faster Engineering feedback loop $$$ Faster path to packaged sales samples $$$ Faster path to failure analysis of returned parts $$$ Faster path to qualification $$$ Faster path to characterization Quality: $$$ Reduce handling between different media, and manual testing $$$ Vision inspection can be integrated into process $$$ Improved traceability of every device Confidential and Proprietary to Peak Automation, Inc. © 2011 All rights reserved.
