One hundred microliters of supernatants from stationary-phase lactococcal cells (OD600 = 2) were separated by sodium dodecyl sulfate/polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and proteins were electrotransferred on a nitrocellulose membrane. LcrV was detected by immunoblotting using a specific mouse monoclonal antibody.
