So……….. Why did we explore with the balloons????

Look around you. Wherever you are, you are surrounded by “stuff
Look around you. Wherever you are, you are surrounded by “stuff.” But a good scientist doesn’t go around calling stuff, “stuff”! That’s too simple. Instead, a really good scientist calls all this stuff we are surrounded by, “matter”. So what exactly is matter... besides being “stuff”?
3
Matter is anything that:
(1) takes up space “has volume” (mL, L, etc.) and (2) has mass (g) and weight (lb, kg, etc). If an object has mass – it WILL have weight (only if there is gravity) Because…. Weight is the result of the EFFECT of gravity on an object’s mass!
4
All matter on earth may be classified as either:
Reminder…. All matter on earth may be classified as either: solids liquids or gases …..and…these are known as: “the three states of matter”
5
Gases are one state of matter.
Since all matter must have mass and take up space, if gases are matter, then they MUST have mass and take up space!
