8 Theory ANOMIE THEORY Mostly because of his past record of trying to live a non-criminal life, I believe the Anomie Theory fits Vitale best.First serving in the military, than a restaurant job, a social club, and later becoming a corrections officer, Vitale has had many attempts to lead a successful life. All of this would later only fall after his association with Joseph Massino, who would convince him to join the family mafia. Despite all of this, Vitale has tried to keep his family separate- refusing to let his sons join in with him.
