How does the GSM Gateway work

How does the GSM Gateway work
GSM Gateway is a device for direct routing of GSM calls through its GSM modules into GSM network. Otherwise, routing of these calls through PSTN network to the GSM network would be much more costly. While using GSM gateway, there is no interconnect fee besides bills from SIM cards, which are used in GSM Gateway. The calls may originate in company’s PBX, in alternative carriers networks etc. E1 or VoIP connection to 2N StarGate is supported.

Recommended settings at ISDN side
* EuroISDN interface (Q.931 EDDS1) ** If you set 2N StarGate as NT(MASTER), set switch as TE (SLAVE) E1* Port: NT** Synchronization: MASTER TEI: 0 Port: TE** Synchronization: SLAVE TEI: 0

The GSM side Outgoing calls 8 independent outgoing GSM groups
CLIP/CLIR features possibility for limitation of minutes Rotating of SIMs by time/random/limit GSM network 1 GSM network 2 Incoming calls 4 independent incoming GSM groups possibility to REJECT/IGNORE incoming calls present with DISA message/dialling tone passing to switch/VoIP gateway GSM network 3

Outgoing calls settings
1. Assign GSM Modules to GSM groups Every single GSM Module may be assigned to one outgoing group and one incoming group. Incoming and outgoing groups are two different sets of groups. 4. Define LCR LCR (Least Cost Routing) algorithm assigns GSM Groups to Network lists together with time dependency. In other words it says, through which GSM Modules will be calls routed (according to its prefix). 2. Configure every GSM Group separately Every set of GSM Modules (creating GSM Group) is configured separately. Configuration include CLIP/CLIR options, times of usage, minutes limit etc. 3. Create network lists (one for each GSM network) Every Network list contains list of prefixes, which will be routed together with the same rules. Usually a Network list corresponds with all prefixes for one GSM Network.

Data records about traffic
CDR (Call Data Records) 2N StarGate automatically saves information about every call into its memory (even unsuccessful calls if needed). With latest CPU board you have space for up to 245 thousand lines. In CDR you will find data about every call, which has been connected through 2N StarGate Statistics 2N StarGate automatically generates detailed statistics data on all incoming and outgoing calls.. In Statistics you will find data about number of minutes routed through every GSM module, GSM Group

CDR (Call Data Records)
Example of one line in CDR file ** /11:07:53 O-OK CAU-016 aux/g02 GRP-1 0:23 001: / 1. column: ** 2. column: date/time of start of the call 3. column: type of call -I-FD : Unconnected attempt of incoming call (It will be implemented at higher version of the firmware) -I-OK : Successfully connected incoming call (It will be implemented at higher version of the firmware) -O-FD : Unconnected attempt of outgoing call -O-OK : Successfully connected outgoing call 4. column: CAUSE sent to ISDN 5. column: number of used B-channel/number of used GSM module 6. column: used GSM group 7. column: time of establishing call 8. column: duration of call mmm:ss (max. 255:59) or error cause for unconnected calls 8. column: costs of the call (will be implemented in higher version of firmware) 9. column: called number 10. column: caller number 11. column: number of slot/IMSI* of used SIM card *with GSM modules GM22(47) IMSI is presented, with TC35 GSM modules serial number of SIM card is presented

Easy remote control 2N STARGATE can be configured and supervised (remotely or locally) using the following connections: locally via an RS232 interface ISDN (or analogue) modem connected to an RS232 interface. An automatic detection of the modem connection and thus automatic modem configuration are a matter of course 10baseT interface - TELNET Inbound B-channel in PRI ISDN connection
