1 Phosphates, Arsenates and Vanadates
This class is based on XO43- anionic complexes where X is P5+ (0.35Å), As5+ (0.46Å) and V5+ (0.59Å), larger than S6+ (0.30Å). The similarity in the size of the large X cation gives rise to several solid solution series within this class.

2 Several groupings can be distinguished:
Anhydrous Monazite CePO4 (monazite can contain other majority rare earth or lanthanide elements, i.e. La, Nd, Th. In these cases, the new convention is for example to call the mineral monazite-La.)
