1 The feasibility of endovascular aortic repair strategy in treating infected aortic aneurysms
Chung-Dann Kan, MD, PhD, Hsu-Ting Yen, MD, Chung-Ben Kan, MD, Yu-Jen Yang, MD, PhD  Journal of Vascular Surgery  Volume 55, Issue 1, Pages (January 2012) DOI: /j.jvs Copyright © 2012 Society for Vascular Surgery Terms and Conditions

2 Fig 1 A and B, A computed tomography (CT) scan showed patient 7, an 81-year-old man, had osteomyelitis and a Salmonella-infected abdominal aortic aneurysm with contained rupture. C, He received an aortouniiliac endovascular stent graft with femorofemoral bypass surgery. D, Later, he underwent CT-guided percutaneous drainage and then a minilaparotomy for open debridement due to persistent fever with spinal osteomyelitis. E and F, A follow-up CT angiography 13 months later showed the osteomyelitis still persisted, even though the EVAR stent graft was intact without any specific symptoms. 3 Fig 2 Serial computed tomography scans are shown for patient 6, who had a Salmonella-infected abdominal aortic aneurysm and received the endovascular aortic repair, CT-guided percutaneous drainage adjunctive procedure, and prolonged antibiotics treatment. At 1 year later, the psoas abscess had completely resolved. Journal of Vascular Surgery  , 55-60DOI: ( /j.jvs ) Copyright © 2012 Society for Vascular Surgery Terms and Conditions
