Before The Internet... It was Arpanet
October 4th, 1957 Soviet Union Launched Sputnik 1 Created fear of Nuclear Attack in the USA USA Responded with DARPA, an agency to focus on improving communication in face of an attack

ARPANet Quickly Expanded
In 1969, DARPA was successful in linking the first two computers Many more computers added to ARPAnet over the years

Tim Berners-Lee worked at CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research) Tim Noticed Scientists & Researchers weren’t publishing their findings Tim envisioned a simple system where you could publish without strict formatting requirements.

WWW Stands for World Wide Web, which was invented by Tim Berners-Lee. HTTP Stands for HyperText Transfer Protocol HTML Stands for HyperText Markup Language Tim Berner-Lee Invented HTML, HTTP, and the WWW. If he could go back, guess what he would change?
