An initiative to promote excellence and progress in our student clubs and organizations

2 Club and Organization Purposes
Promote fun-based passions Provide leadership opportunities Advance career-based interests Strengthen community through relationships Give greater purposes to students Connect classroom learning to life Advance mission/spirit of institution

3 Facets of “Excellence”
Integrates Development for Members Actively and purposely develops essential skills relevant to life beyond the club/organization and JWU

4 Facets of “Excellence”
Invokes Curiosity in Others Seeks to share purpose, passion, and vision of club/org with non-members

5 Facets of “Excellence”
Infuses Itself to the Fabric of the Institution Establishes an undeniable presence on campus that would be difficult to miss

6 Facets of “Excellence”
Gives Back to the Greater Community Devotes time and energy in the service of others

7 Facets of “Excellence”
Has Advisor Support Advisor is willing to write a recommendation letter for the group to be recognized as an “excellent” organization

8 Facets of “Excellence”
Adheres to Conduct Expectations of Clubs/Orgs No responsible holdings for group conduct issues – this is not about individual members having conduct issues

Promotes the Wildcat Way Demonstrates pride, courage, character, and/or community through a way that speaks to the club/org and its members

Integrates Professional Development for Members Invokes Curiosity in Others Infuses Itself to the Fabric of the Institution Gives Back to the Greater Community Has Advisor Support Adheres to Conduct Expectations of Clubs/Orgs Promotes the Wildcat Way

11 Earning Recognition Clubs/Orgs submit information that supports each of these areas Form on Involvement Network with space/attachments to include data that demonstrates how that piece of excellence was fulfilled Support would be anecdotal but specific information would be required about events to help validate claim Review committee chose from faculty and staff

12 Incentives Pride in being formally recognized as an “Excellent” club/org Special markings on orientation handouts (asterisk with text below explaining what the asterisk means) Recognition at the Wildcat Awards (announcement of “Excellent” clubs/organizations) Formal announcements of recipients via to faculty/staff/campus
