June 2018 doc.: IEEE /1091r0 June 2018 Technical Highlights Container MAC protocol to carry queries based on upper layer service discovery protocols (e.g. UPnP, mDNS) Provisioning and configuration of services in the access point Service Transaction Proxy is a logical element connected to the access point Universal identification of services Using a hash name Provide service attributes (e.g. 3D printer capability or point of sale service) Stephen McCann, Blackberry

Service Hash A service hash is created from a service name (RFC 6335).
June 2018 doc.: IEEE /1091r0 June 2018 Service Hash A service hash is created from a service name (RFC 6335). service hash = L(SHA-256(service name), 0, 48). 6 octets in length Service Hashes can be broadcast in a “Service Hash Element” in a beacon/probe response. Service Hashes can be mathematically combined into a bloom filter and broadcast in a “Service Hint Element”. The bloom filter enables the receiving STA to determine the probability that the transmitting STA has any specific service. Stephen McCann, BlackBerry Stephen McCann, BlackBerry

Group Addressed GAS A STA can advertise its GA GAS capability
June 2018 doc.: IEEE /1091r0 June 2018 Group Addressed GAS A STA can advertise its GA GAS capability Time-outs prevent broadcast repeats A STA can elect to switch between GA and non-GAS mode. Stephen McCann, BlackBerry Stephen McCann, BlackBerry
