1 WRITING WITH R.A.F.T.S. IN MIND
R = Role:   What is my role as the writer?  Who am I A = Audience:  To whom am I writing?  Should I write formally? Informally? F = Format:   Which format should I use while writing? T = Topic:   What is the topic? Is it sufficiently focused? S = Strong Verb:  What am I trying to do in this piece of writing?

2 Your Situation You are writing a mini-speech and memorizing it for Monday. It should be no longer than 1 minute long. You are you “imprisoned” in your home by a guardian or parent likened to a strict Puritan (very religious, full of condemnation, believer that suffering and hard labor earns you favor with God), because you are guilty of disobeying the rules (untimely chore completion, walking in the forest while holding the hand of someone you are not married to, eating more than your share of rations). Convince your guardian to give you your independence. Write your own Declaration of Independence with persuasive appeal.
