Issues With People Clients * can be emotionally draining * values conflicts * horrific stories (emotional contagion or vicarious PTSD) * detachment * resistance * setting boundaries * “difficult” clients (Who would you define as difficult?) * diversity (being honest with self and biases)

Dealing With People Site Supervisor * fallible * supervision style compared to learning style * receiving feedback and evaluation Dealing with coworkers * influence over student * can be source of support/stress * is student part of the team * can serve as role models

The important part is how the student responds to the problems * the need to normalize the feelings * the need to share the feelings * the need for others to respond to the feelings Possible loss of enthusiasm (greater disappointment) More complaining Self-esteem concerns
