For all the good the Progressive Movement accomplished, they failed one group in particular. Spend some time reading unit and write down some thoughts on who the group was and why you think this was. Please put your name on the paper, as you will need to turn it in.

1890, Louisiana passed the Separate Car act.
Group of black Louisianans formed the Citizens’ Committee to test the Constitutionality of the act
Homer Plessy agrees to be arrested
Supreme Court ruled that the Separate Car Act did not violate the 13th, or 14th Amendments.
Why would Homer Plessy tell the conductor he was “colored” when he knew it would lead to his arrest?
If separate facilities are maintained for people of different races, what impact would such an approach have on society?
