1. MY SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY MAGAZINE – THE PROPOSAL
Welcome to my proposal for my sheffield Wednesday magazine. hERE, I WILL BE EXPLAINING THE PLANS AND IDEAS FOR MY BRAND NEW PRODUCTION!

2. GENRE
fOR MY FMP I WILL BE MAKING A MAGAZINE BASED ON SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY FC. Therefore, my magazine genre is sport with a sub-genre being football. I wanted to make a publication dedicated to one, specific club as it’s different to your typical football magazine. tHE TARGET audience FOR MY MAGAZINE, OF COURSE, IS SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY SUPPORTERS.

3. MAGAZINE TITLE
At the moment I’ve got three possible names for my sheffield Wednesday publication. They are as follows;
OWLS
THE WEDNESDAY
1867
This names I have chose because they all relate to the theme of sheffield Wednesday. When it comes to deciding the final name, I will ask my target audience by using social media outlets.

4. RESEARCH FOR MY Publication
WHEN COMING UP WITH THE IDEA FOR MY MAGAZINE, I RESEARCHED MAGAZINES THAT ARE DEDICATED TO INDIVIDUAL FOOTBALL CLUBS. I LOOKED AT CHELSEA’S, MANCHESTER UNITED’S, ARSENAL’S AND LIVERPOOL’S. THEY INSPIRED ME TO CREATE A MAGAZINE IN THIS TOPIC. ALSO, THEY GAVE ME IDEAS FOR ARTICLES AND ALLOWED ME TO LOOK AT STYLES. Here are some screenshots of magazines and articles I looked at when doing my initial research:

5. FRONT COVER DESINGS
Below are three front cover designs that I have made in draft to give you an indication for how it may look.
In the next slide, I will discuss my front cover further!

6. MORE ON MY FRONT COVER
My front cover design will consist of one, main front cover image with text likely to go across it. My front cover image will be of jordan rhodes – a sheffield Wednesday player. Along with the front cover image, I’ll be including a line of text in relation to the front cover star.
This is one of the front covers I analysed. I like this plan because it relates to the image I have in my mind for the idea.

7. Colour schemes
With the magazine being all about sheffield Wednesday, the colours I plan to use the obvious blue and white approach.
I plan to have blue on the front cover. My aim is to find a blue as close to the colour of sheffield Wednesday’s home kit as possible.
All the body text will be written in black.

8. My target audience GENDER – MIXED. AGE RANGE – 15-20.
GROUP OF PEOPLE – SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY SUPPORTERS.
As you will have gathered straight away, my magazine is a Sheffield Wednesday publication., my magazine will be aimed purely at owls’ supporters.

9. THE CONTENT
MY MAGAZINE WILL CONSIST OF SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY RELATED CONTENT TO ANCHOR THE MEANING OF MY PRODUCT.
My intention is to run a double page spread q&a with owls striker Jordan Rhodes for the main feature of the magazine.
Along with the q&a, I will be producing a match report from an owls 1st team game.

10. IDEAS FOR MY DOUBLE PAGE SPREADS
THE DOUBLE PAGE SPREADS WILL BE EASILY DESIGNED AND THE CONTENT WILL BE EASY TO READ. I DON’T WANT TO MAKE IT CLUTTERED.
AS FOR IMAGERY, I INTEND TO HAVE ABOUT THREE-FOUR IMAGES OF JORDAN RHODES FOR THE FEATURE Q&A. But I’ll have images of the ground and landmarks around the stadium to anchor the meaning for my match report. If I was trained in taking action shots, I would have.

11. IMAGE IDEAS FOR MY JORDAN RHODES Q&A
FRONT COVER – I PLAN TO HAVE JORDAN SMILING, WEARING A WEDNESDAY SHIRT AND HOLDING A FOOTBALL AND LOOKING DIRECTLY AT THE CAMERA.
FOR THE FEATURE ITSELF, I INTEND TO HAVE THREE IMAGES OF HIM ACROSS THE DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD. For them, I want to have him against a goal, a club crest and a shot out on the training pitch. A lot of this does depend on what the club’s media team allow me to do.
The images will go around the next. Not one page dedicated to images.

12. Image ideas for my match report
Due to me not being able to take action shots, I will take images of the ground. These things will include; fixture board, scoreboard, dugouts and tunnel (if possible).
I’ll also use images of the outside of the ground.
