Discussion of Lattice Issues
Many items covered during Monday afternoon discussion Key action items (short term): Additions to lattices (Aimin Xiao and Yi-Peng Sun) Timescale: Implement as much as possible by LCWS07 List: Need to update RF configuration Circumference Adjustability Abort dump Phase Trombone Lumped Injection/Extraction Kickers Implement separated injection/extraction straights Add correctors (dipole and skew quad) to lattice definition for LET studies Add BPM locations Nomenclature for naming elements around ring Specify apertures Return to greater symmetry in the ring March 7, 2007 ILCDR07 - Frascati
5
Action Items (continued)
Explore timing configurations compatible with electron subharmonic buncher (Greg Penn) Timescale: For LCWS07 Interface with other systems (principal contact Tor R.), validate DR timing configuration/circumference and provide specification to lattice designers Explore momentum compaction flexibility in TME and FODO lattices (Aimin Xiao and Yi-Peng Sun) Timescale: 6 months Possibly set default target at 3x10-4 and aim for +/-1x10-4 adjustability range. Need to understand what flexibility is allowed (also incorporate input from following study) March 7, 2007 ILCDR07 - Frascati
6
Action Items (continued)
Study lattice features that may provide momentum compaction flexibility while maintaining emittance performance (Marica Biagini) Timescale: 6 months Provide comparisons of performance of cells used in the present TME and FODO lattices and, for instance, the KEKB lattice cell Specify wiggler section parameters Timescale: Provide wiggler power load specifications and develop layout requirements March 7, 2007 ILCDR07 - Frascati

Other Results of Discussion
An expanded list of items for evaluation has been generated Will be maintained on the ILCDR07 talks web page Most other items can be viewed as somewhat longer timescale For example, update to shaft specifications needs to be completed for the EDR March 7, 2007 ILCDR07 - Frascati

A set of very interesting work has been presented
Summary A set of very interesting work has been presented Short term milestones have been generated which attempt to: Provide lattice information to support dynamics and technical studies in as timely a fashion as possible Explore the most critical issues affecting the lattice directly, particularly the momentum compaction Finalize the ring layout Longer term milestones will be generated as the short term list is addressed Thanks to everyone who contributed!
